Our story
NeutroGen's story originates at the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom, where the teams of Dr. Borko Amulic and Dr. Ash Toye investigated the biology of blood stem cells and their capacity to generate neutrophils.
These studies led to optimized protocols for ex vivo manufacture of neutrophils at scale. Realizing the potential of this technology to improve existing transfusion attempts, Dr. Amulic teamed up with a cell therapy expert, Dr. Lorenz Knackstedt, to initiate the translation process. They were joined by Felix Jensen-Dietrich and Holger Münchmeyer, with business development and operational experience, to found NeutroGen Therapeutics in Berlin in August 2024.Â
Together, the team combines years of discovery and translational science, business operations and entrepreneurial experience.
